I’ve started a new blog. It has a startlingly dissimilar name, Attaboy Media, and it’s going to be where I ramble more about geeky stuff like making web sites (or web applications, since that’s what I really do these days) and what I think of the latest nifty Mac or iPhone application. Stuff that, while I enjoy talking about, I don’t think everyone is interested in.
I hope to keep both blogs going, but I must admit that I’ve been wooed quite convincingly by the simplicity of Tumblr, the blogging tool I’m using for the new site. They’ve built a great engine that makes posting almost too easy. And that, when it comes down to it, is one of the greatest challenges of regular blogging. It took me about 2 minutes to set up the new blog, and then I spent a bit more time — but not much, honestly — tinkering to get a look that I wanted. They’ve built in one-click buttons to post links, photos, etc., and a bookmarklet that smartly guesses what sort of thing you’re posting from the site that you’re at. (For instance, if I click to post from a Flickr page, it guesses that I want to post a photo.) There’s even a dashboard widget for true one-click posting.
Anyway, if your half as nerdy as I am about web design, Macs and other computery goodness, come over and join me. If not, I’ll see you next post.
