The infamous ballot.According to Florida
According to Florida state law, the Democrats say, the punch-holes must be listed on the right of the candidate's name. While I don't think the ballot is so difficult to figure out (there are arrows, folks), this controversy speaks to my own prime interest: design.
This is a poorly-designed ballot. It is not intuitive to stagger the names in a zigzag fashion. Why didn't they just change the shape of the ballot card and list all the names in one column?
In general it's amazing that people take so little consideration for clarity in the world. But in an American election, you would think that after 224 years of democracy, the folks down south could get it right.
