Will You Buy It With a Mouse, Will You Buy a Brand New House?
Little did we know, but in addition to drawing cats, hats, green eggs and other strange, hallucinogenic pictures, Theodore Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss, worked as an advertising illustrator during the 1920s, ’30s and ’40s. In addition to working on a 17-year campaign for Flit, a bug spray, Seuss lent his trademark style to such fine enterprises as NBC, General Electric and Standard Oil.
The works in question are part of a collection at the University of California, San Diego. [Link courtesy of Signal vs. Noise]
