It’s one of those mornings

It's one of those mornings that makes you wonder just what the French were thinking when they chose to settle along the St. Lawrence. I mean really, when the temperature plunged to -19 °C (I'm not making that up, folks. And we ain't talking wind chill.), didn't it occur to them that it was really just too cold? If it got this cold in France, they'd all keel over.

Montreal is really a testament to humanity dominating nature. "Six months of winter be damned, we've got a city to build here!" they said. Montrealers have always had Big Grand Ideas for their city, but perhaps none was bigger or grander than the idea of 3.5 million people living in sub-zero (Celsius or Fahrenheit, take your pick) temperatures for long periods of time.

Can you tell that I lost a nice hat and one of my mittens last night?
