Over There (in the UK)

Even though we all say “duck tape”, snooty intellectuals like myself have known all this time that it’s properly called duct tape and we would pronounce it that way if it weren’t so inconvenient. Go ahead, try and say “duct tape” without sounding like a total quack. It’s two syllables that sound like twelve.

Turns out we’ve been straining for nothing. It really is called duck tape, and it always has been, or at least until somebody in the 1970s messed up.
