Rocket Robin Hood

Growing up watching Saturday morning cartoons in the 1980s, a few memories stand out. One is the parade of breakfast cereals that marched across the screen competing for my appetite, if only my mother would buy something more sugar-coated than Cheerios. Another is Rocket Robin Hood, a bizarre relic of the 1960s that was broadcast in Canada until the mid-'80s. Set in the year 3000 A.D., the show featured the Merry Space Men on Sherwood Asteroid with plots and backgrounds that, in hindsight, could only have been inspired by the hallucinogenic drugs of the time.

In a stroke of luck, there is a web site that actually has an episode to watch of this most cherished childhood memory, along with some other mainstays of youth like The Mighty Hercules. Grab a bowl of Count Chokula and enjoy.

lame, every time I try to visit the page the embeded video is broken.

Is it just me, or is Rocket Robin Hood a closet case? He is always wearing spandex or other provocative clothing, and just now he was stripping another man down with his sword, and the guards had to hold him back. Was the sword really his penis? It does extend…

I only really read it for Canucks coverage, but even still it’s nice that The Vancouver Sun finally redesigned its hideously awful website to look like it was designed this century.
