Brand new! Available for a limited time, for the socially conscious designer: undesign, "a plan for all seasons."

Undesign presents wise words in the spirit of Tibor Kalman , a designer who resented the somewhat the socially bankrupt nature of his profession. (Try Adbusters or Salon for a better idea of what Mr. Kalman represented.)

The more I pay attention, the more I realize that there is a larger concern for corporate social responsibility among the world's design grunts than I ever thought. All you have to do is look around, ask a few questions, and people perk up up and say, "Yeah, you know what? Advertising is terrible, and why am I continuing to be a part of it?"

In many ways what keeps me working at a university is the notion that I am not working to the betterment of wallets, but to the betterment of minds.
