Japan has voted instant noodles

Japan has voted instant noodles as her top contribution to the 20th century. Experts speculate that the decision came about after Mr. Noodle staved off civil war in Angola and successfully settled the American election to both Gore and Bush's satisfaction.

Oddly enough, while noodles have saved countless millions from having to actually get up and cook, the runner up in the voting, karaoke, is banned in 86 states under the Geneva Convention as a recognized form of human torture.
