Thus it perhaps not surprising — though it was to me at the time — that I felt such strong feelings of remorse and sadness. Feelings I've never felt about any sort of celebrity, and certainly couldn't feel about any other Canadian politician.

There is no shortage of material to link to on the Web, of course, but there seems little need to send you to the usual assortment of media outlets.
